Wooden doors

Standard wooden doors come in such a wide range of different applications, each with their own specific requirements for keypads. As a result, many factors need to be considered when deciding on a door lock. This includes:

  • Traffic rating
  • Handle type
  • Internal or external rating

As a result, a wide range of different locks are designed to work with wooden doors, each created with British engineering and formed with the highest grade of components. A wide range of latches are available to suit the different potential applications.

Duty rating

This refers to the amount of traffic in which the lock is going to see; simply put, the higher the duty rating, the stronger it’ll be and the more force and wear the unit can take.

Handle type

There are two main styles of handle; lever turn and thumb turn. The lever turn is easier to rotate and use but is more prone to force whereas the thumb turn is slightly more difficult to rotate but harder to damage.

Internal or external
There are three main styles of grading; internal, sheltered external and external.
