BORGLOCKS FAQ's

Our Frequently Asked Questions that are commonly asked by customers

Our locks are available to be fit on all manner of doors. It doesn’t matter if it’s a timber, steel or even a UVPC door; we’ll have a specific keypad readily made for that purpose.

Not all locks are waterproof with some locks showcasing greater resistance to the elements. The Marine Grade range are a range of locks specifically designed for external fittings. These locks are E-plated in our specialized external coating which has been salt spray tested for a continuous 1000 hours.

We strive to fulfil orders within 1-2 business days. The cut-off for next day delivery is at 15:00 Monday to Friday.

The code change method varies from product to product. Some offer the ability to change the code on the door whilst some require the keypad to be removed first. All code change details for each model can be found on the code change instructions portion of our website: https://borglocks.co.uk/help-support/code-change-instructions/

If the code has been forgotten, firstly don’t panic. If you can get the keypad off the door, the code can be determined by the position of the red tumblers /dials on the back. If you can’t get the keypad off the door, it’s advised you call and speak to one of our technicians for further support.

Each of our locks are supplied with a full set of instructions and drilling templates required for fitting. The majority can be fitted without too much assistance but if you aren’t feeling DIY savvy or confident, it is advised to seek help from a dedicated locksmith.

Locks do require regular maintenance for optimum usage. High traffic door sets or areas with a lot of exposure are recommended that they are sprayed with a silicone-based lubricant, like GT-85 or a PTFE spray, at least quarterly. Lower trafficked areas or internal setups should be sprayed every 6 months.
